Bored with your standard WYSIWYG editor that only had limited features and want to change it to the advanced editor. Maybe TinyMCE Advanced can solve your problem. A fairly critical decision is whether you need a WYSIWYG HTML editor or not. For myself, I anticipated long posts with complicated formatting and tables, plus embedded images and cross-linkages. These requirements strongly indicated the need for a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor or a powerful WYSIWYG.
I not saying that using normal editor limiting the effectiveness and development of your Wordpress blog. But, if there other option that you can change it to powerful WYSIWYG, then you must consider to use TinyMCE Advanced. This plugin offer most of the advanced features of Wordpress WYSIWYG editor.
TinyMCE Advanced Features.
This plugin adds 16 plugins to TinyMCE: Advanced hr, Advanced Image, Advanced Link, Context Menu, Emotions (Smilies), Full Screen, IESpell, Layer, Media, Nonbreaking, Print, Search and Replace, Style, Table, Visual Characters and XHTML Extras.
The admin page uses Scriptaculous and Prototype.js (similar to the “Widgets” admin page) that lets you “drag and drop” the TinyMCE buttons to arrange your own toolbars and enables/disables the corresponding plugins depending on the used buttons.
Installation.
Give a try, maybe you can change the way your are writing right now. If you missed my old post below some of the roundup for new visitors.
