I remember that I start write this blog 2 month ago, where the first week the blog only received 10 hits. I’m not losing even of that low traffics because it’s my new blog. The low hits give me some more idea to increase it and attract new readers - the way to achieved it by make my new blog look more professional even it’s not. Some of the idea that I already implemented to my blog come from my blog design, content, marketing and other related factors. I will list it on how you can make new blog look more professional in several post.

1 - Remove the date based archives or other related date that make your blog look new.
Actually some of the Wordpress theme already had these archives features, it will list all your post in monthly order. I don’t see this features good for my new blog because my blog post only had few post. The best way is try to using categories instead and keep the categories broad with these archives feature. I already remove the archives for a while, but it will be back when I want it.

2 - Don’t advertise your subscriber numbers.
Offer feed count and subscriber numbers with nice feed icon one of the way to make your blog look more good - hey! all blog offer these feed count. Don’t impressed with your subscriber numbers if you have only 10 subscriber to your RSS feed, but chances are that noone else is. I’m not saying that new blog with zero subscriber are “bad site” but you should think of these thought “noone else reads this blog, shy should I?”. Sometime these factors give readers first impression to your blog. Only show the feed count if you already established.

3 - Remove the author or admin name in your post or comments.
You should also consider to remove all these author or admin name in your blog post or comment and change it to your name like Dott-Com or else. Why? The reason is simple some of the readers like to communicate more personal and get to know you. If you put the admin and author name surely they don’t know who are you. I think, two way communication with a personal touch are much better for new blog.

4 - Remove all the button and rank from directories.
Here is the deal - don’t clutter your page up so much with free button and rank from directories. Don’t hope these step will help you drive more traffics and readership. For me these button won’t help your blog since it’s new, a clean design will make your site look more great. However these button and rank directories only work only for big blog that already have higher page rank and ranked higher in other directories. I like to called it “show off time”.  Don’t do any show off if your blog new with 0 page rank.

5 - Start your blog with quick post - Write your first 20-30 post for more blog content.
The faster you filled your blog with content, the more worthwhile your blog will be(even your blog post not worthwhile). Remember that, reader search and read blog based on the content, more you post good content, more chance you will get readers. Since Wordpress had a edit timestamps feature, you can use it to backdated some of the if you want. There is no need to post 30 post a day but if really do it, please use the timestamps feature to backdated some of the post.
