Sometime to get notice by other blogger I do send some e-mail asking a feedback, advice, help, linkback and other related topics that I can’t get the answer on my own. The question is how many of the e-mail that you send being answered? Get reply? or attract blogger attention.
If you are new blogger, e-mail that you send sometime will be ignored? For some reason, maybe the blogger had many task to do, your e-mail contain spam or other related who’s know. Commonly, as a new blogger surely you will send an e-mail just to ask for linkback or to exchange blogroll link. That is a common situation in bloggersphere. I do it? Ask is better than don’t.
To get your e-mail being notice, answered, and attract other you must practices good “karma”. Even in your e-mail. Here I will list what you should included in your e-mail what not. This is the method that I use to send an e-mail to other. Ranked most common to least.
Do this:
- Do e-mail only good stuff to other.
- Do put the subject headlines. Never send a blank headlines e-mail.
- Do introduce yourself, why you send the email, never ask something in the first mail.
- Do be polite. I don’t have to eleborated more on this.
- Do send a link to a post, one that is interesting to them and their readers. He will give a visit if you can attract the interest.
- Do be polite and humble - you are asking for a favour or something for return, they have the right to decline or ignore your request.
- Do make your email appealing. Craft it, create it, and lastly think about it.
- Do use Singnature features. A safe number for non-wrapping text would be in the range of 70-72 characters. Try to keep signatures in the three-to-six line range of length. Don’t overload it.
- Do know the blogger basic background(check about me pages), the social value or other related. We have different background, historical value and religious. Suite the best before you start any conversation.
Dont’ do this:
- Don’t email bloggers with your blog URL in e-mail post. Included the URL in signature section only.
- Don’t send link requests. Please introduce your self first, why you send the e-mail and after you can ask nice and easily.
- Don’t mass-mail - create and make each email unique and personalised.
- Don’t assume - your email is a question and perhaps the start of a conversation, not a demand to other blogger.
- Don’t flog a dead horse - only email your best stuff and not too often. Move on if you don’t get results. Move out if your e-mail not answered.
If I missed something please do updated me in the comment box.
